May 31: Final night banquet

A banquet at The Royal Garden Restaurant marked the last night of the Armenian Church's Pilgrimage.
Its success and all those who contributed so much to bringing it about, including the organisers, Sonia
John, her staff and assistants, and Sir Paul Chater himself, were enthusiastically toasted and thanked.

1 June: Lantau Island

On our last day in Hong Kong three family members, Jackie Jenkins, Peter & Liz Lumsdon, visited the Cuzners at Tung Chung then took a winding bus ride up into the hills of Lantau to see the Buddhist monastery at Po Lin before flying out respectively to the UK and mainland China.

After the hectic pace of Hong Kong, the monastery was a lovely peaceful place: the only high-rise was the great Buddha sitting serenely on a secluded mountain-top and the only sound the tinkling of temple bells.
